How To Stop Your Eyeliner From Bleeding

Whether you’re using pencil or liquid, eyeliner tends to bleed and can leave you with smudgy raccoon eyes. No thanks!

There are a few simple tricks to make your life easier and to stop your eyeliner from bleeding.

First, SKIN CARE! Skin care should always be prioritized because having a good base for your makeup can go a long way. If your skin is too oily, this can possibly be the cause of your runny eyeliner. If this is the case, cleansing your face with a cotton round of micellar water followed by another cotton round of witch hazel, can help take away any excess oils and dirt.

Once your face is cleansed, priming your eyelids helps prevent any product from moving. Elf is highly recommended because they have multiple primers that are inexpensive and also hydrating.

If you’re in a pinch and don’t have any primer, don’t worry! Just use a light layer of matte concealer or foundation to prime your eyelids. Works like a charm and it’s probably something that is already in your makeup bag.

Once the eyelids are primed, use a small amount of powder to sweep the eyelids. This step helps to really set the eyes and stop any product from moving.

Now that your eyes are primed, it’s time to apply eyeshadow or liner. Finding a good eyeliner can take time because there are so many out there that it can be stressful trying to find one.

Whether you’re paying for a liner from a high-end brand or a liner from a drugstore, the price doesn’t matter. The FORMULA does!

Want to know a little secret? N.Y.X.’s Vinyl Eyeliner is by far the best. Why? It doesn’t fade, it’s long lasting, and it’s fast drying (A.K.A. it doesn’t bleed!). Most Importantly: it’s inexpensive. This product can be found at Ulta, Target, and multiple other drugstores for as low as $12.

The best part is that this product comes in many colors, giving you the perfect opportunity to elevate an everyday look with something a bit more fun and playful! Give it a try!

5 Beauty Tips That Are Budget Friendly!

Self-care is an important part of wellness but that doesn’t mean it has to be expensive. Here are five budget friendly beauty tips for those of you trying to save:

1. Coconut Oil and Avocado Hair Mask

Sometimes it can be overwhelming finding a decent hair mask, let alone a great one. Lathering chemicals and sulfates on my head? Not appealing!

Coconut oil is a great, healthy alternative for a hair mask that won’t break the bank and it may be something that is already in your kitchen,

Not only does coconut oil give your hair a beautiful shine, it also prevents breakage and split ends (making your hair stronger!). A jar of coconut oil can be as low as $5 at the grocery store and it’ll last months.

Another inexpensive alternative is avocado because its natural oils help protect against damage, promoting a healthier scalp. At most grocery stores, a single avocado costs $1.

While either ingredients are a healthy hair mask on their own, mixing two tablespoons of coconut oil and half an avocado together is the perfect combination and it will cost less than $10.

2. Sally Hansen Nails

As fun as it is to get professionally done nails, it’s not always budget friendly.

Keeping your nails freshly trimmed with a coat of polish is an easy way to look effortlessly put-together. It’s so simple, you can easily do it yourself.

Sally Hansen is a great brand because their polishes have a wide range of colors that are long lasting and inexpensive. While shade ranges may vary, some polishes can be found for as low as $2.49 at Target. Talk about a deal!

3. Vitamin E Oil

From Acne scars to dark spots, it can be tiring trying to get rid of them but Vitamin E oil does the job in a short amount of time.

Apply a small amount on the problem spots nightly until you notice them fade away. If you tend to have dry skin especially in the colder months) applying a thin layer over your face can help keep it hydrated, Keep in mind that this is still oil and you don’t want to clog your pores so a little goes a long way.

A bottle of Vitamin E oil at Trader Joe’s is less than $10 and can last up to six months.

4. African Shea Butter

A good moisturizer that actually works is usually costly but what if there was a moisturizer that fought against breakouts, prevented aging, AND was inexpensive? Well worry no more because African Shea butter has all the needs you are looking for.

Natural African Shea butter is a yellow, putty-like substance that is fragrance free.

African Shea butter consists of Vitamin A and E which are antioxidants. These are healthy properties that slow the process of aging and help brighten skin, giving you a natural glow. Shea butter is even anti-inflammatory and if used on a regular basis, can help prevent cell damage and protect your skin from the sun.

A large tub of African Shea butter can be found at Target for $7 that lasts up to six months. It can even be found for less on Amazon!

5. Raw African Black Soap

Tired of overspending on face washes that only irritate your skin? Raw African black soap is a natural antibacterial soap that works for all skin types and helps fight against breakouts.

Typical face washes add a fragrance to their product which in most cases, leads to irritation. Natural African black soap is fragrance free, organic, and helps soothe any irritation.

Although it is called African black soap, true African black soap is actually brown with black specs in it. Raw African black soap can be found on Amazon for as low as $12 and lasts for months! It can even be found on Etsy for $5!
